IEG: GREAT SUCCESS FOR MIR 2023, RIMINI ZOOMS IN ON BUSINESS AND TECH
• +12% attendees compared to the pre-Covid edition in 2019
• The new format has broadened the industry´s horizons: from entertainment technology to information technology
• Italian Exhibition Group´s Expo Centre is once again the epicentre of the Light, Sound, Visual, Integrated System & Broadcast industry.
Rimini, 4 April 2023 – The curtain has come down on the spectacular MIR show. An open stage show acclaimed by high-profile and high-quality attendees who came out in large numbers from Sunday 2 April to today, at the Rimini Expo Centre. Three intense days of business and training that made the venue the capital of the Light, Sound, Visual, Integrated System & Broadcast industry.
The 6th edition of MIR, the Italian Exhibition Group event that brings together all the leading players in these sectors, giving an international reach to a local area with a longstanding tradition in live entertainment, closed its doors boasting numbers that not only re-confirm its pre-Covid popularity, but exceed expectations : with +12% attendance compared to 2019.
In terms of business growth, the new MIR formula certainly paid off - even more engaging thanks to the synergy established with SIEC - Systems Integration Experience Community and the consolidation of the partnership with Live You Play - broadening its horizons to the application of technology, not only in the entertainment industry sector, where collaboration with SILB was reconfirmed, but also in diverse contexts, to inspire all the professional figures involved in the design of spaces, including information technology sectors.
A project responding to the needs of companies and a professional public increasingly attentive to technological innovations: the new layout extended over six pavilions – occupying over 17,000 square metres – where visitors could observe and test products and the latest updates from the main international brands. And there was more: the specialized MIR TECH area hosted a series of exclusive formats - such as installations in the AV Experience area, for a 360° immersion in the audio-video universe - and a calendar of events with appreciated experts and professionals from the industry.MIR IS ´LIVE YOU PLAY´
One of the main attractions this year was ´Live you Play´, with two perfectly equipped stages: live audio, video and light solutions alternated in real live shows. ´Live System Contest´ and ´Contest Mixer´ compared audio and mixer systems on an innovative robotised stage that optimised sound performance. The three IMMERSIVE ROOMS proved to be a real crowd puller, while in the SOUND ARENA, the ´Contest Colonne´ provided comparative of high-quality vertical audio systems. MIR CLUB AND CAREER DAY
MIR CLUB, with the professional partnership of Music Innovation Hub, hosted discussions, meetings and talks, live performances and DJ sets. ´Career Day´ attracted great interest organising one-to-one speed meetings with some of the most acclaimed producers, entrepreneurs, sound designers, safety experts and figures in live entertainment.BIG NAMES IN THE CLUB ARENA: TECHNOLOGY AT THE SERVICE OF EMOTIONS
The CLUB ARENA conferences focused on the themes of show business, the challenges it faces and how technology is at the service of emotions. Plenty of scope was provided for training events as well, with important masterclasses, among others, lighting designer, Marco Filibeck (´Light speaks´) and Giovanni Pinna (´Lighting design in live shows – Design and creation´), producer and sound engineer, Alex Trecarichi (´BetterMakers – Tricks and techniques to improve mixing and production´) and journalist and music, Pierfrancesco Pacoda (´Festival and local area – how can music foster cultural and economic development in the areas that host it?´).
One of the event highlights was the conference, ´The impact of technology on the design of spaces´, in collaboration with SIEC - Systems Integration Experience Community, open to architects, designers, IT and marketing managers, and anyone involved in the design of spaces for work, training, entertainment, hospitality, immersivity and retail.
