Rimini, 2nd August 2022 – The architectonic shapes of hospitality and outdoor facilities dialogue with nature in new, symbiotic and reversible ways to accommodate a dimension of tourism that has become demanding and increasingly interconnected with the surrounding space and the digital sphere. A dimension in which the boundaries between work and travel, hyper-connection and relaxation have become blurred in a new human/nature balance.

This new way of inhabiting places is at the centre of ´The Ne[s]t´ Glamping Exhibition, SIA Hospitality Design´s project that outlines the evolution of open-air holidays. A segment of Italian tourism that is increasingly popular and that, as of this year, will be part of the SIA exhibition offer in the wake of the recent agreement signed between FAITA FederCamping and Italian Exhibition Group. The event devoted to the hospitality world, scheduled to take place from 12th to 14th October at Rimini Expo Centre in conjunction with TTG Travel Experience and SUN Beach&Outdoor Style, as well as IBE Intermobility and Bus Expo and Superfaces, gathers together new travel-related perceptions and prepares to inspire tour operators and designers.

The travellers of today want to take refuge in a secluded and quiet place, far from hustle and bustle. This trend, already detected by the Swg survey carried out for the European rail booking platform Trainline, according to which, this year, travellers are showing a greater desire for nature (+31%) and tranquillity (+29%), is also reflected in the Camping Report by Campeggi.com. In fact, in the first four months of 2022, the website dedicated to outdoor tourism recorded a 150% increase in searches compared to 2021 and an 8% increase compared to 2019.

To meet the new needs and behaviour of travellers, hospitality venues must enter into symbiosis with nature through ´intelligent architectures´: modular spaces that can be modified over time, easy to install and uninstall, with a zero footprint on the territory. This is what architect Paolo Scoglio intends to propose with ´The Ne[s]t´ project, which, at Rimini Expo Centre, will be displaying structures perfectly integrated into the natural environment and connected to digital ecosystems powered by renewable sources.

The project will be presented at the ´Micro-Hospitality in Nature. Intelligent and reversible architectures for nomadic travellers´ event as part of the full programme of seminars and conferences organised in the Design and Camping Arenas during the three days of the show. The desire for open air has caused gardens and outdoor spaces to be redesigned, as landscape architect Davide Giorgi will explain in the talk ´Supernature for hospitality. Style conquers green spaces´. It will also be a hot topic for interior design, on which architect Gianpietro Sacchi will speak at the conference entitled ´Surfing Disruption: riding the wave of new tourism by innovating spaces and services for travellers of the present future.´

The 71st edition of SIA Hospitality Design showcases innovation, technologies and design for hospitality, from rooms, to spas, to outdoor clusters. Numerous exhibitors have already confirmed their attendance, including important regulars and absolute novelties. Dorelan, the event´s bedding partner, together with PerDormire, Permaflex and Simmons, will be back in the area dedicated to supplies, which has already registered higher levels of adhesion than the 2019 edition. Prominent returns will also be seen on the courtesy lines front, with Ammon, Groupe Gm and Allegrini doubling their exhibition spaces. The technology area will also be back to 2019 levels with companies of the calibre of 5 Stelle, Stark, Vitrifrigo, Vda Group, Samsung, Lg and, among the new entries, Häfele. Repower will also be exhibiting with technological solutions for recharging electric vehicles as well as IndelB, the cooling solutions partner. There will be plenty of new entries in the area dedicated to indoor furniture and materials, which will see proposals by Afa Adria Frigo and Dupont Corian, together with Caimi Brevetti, Pollini, Ponzi, Cafissi, Agorà and Atlas Concorde. The strong demand for customised services is driving the Bathroom and Wellness area, which will be further enriched with new confirmations, including Stenal, one of the leaders in the sauna and Turkish bath sector. Completing the offer is the Camping & Glamping segment with Bio Habitat, Yala Canvas Lodge, BB Concept, Pircher Oberland, ElleHouse and Pacchiani Holz.
