K.EY - THE ENERGY TRANSITION EXPO, ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND RENEWABLES THE MAIN FEATURE AT RIMINI EXPO CENTRE

The first stand-alone edition of Italian Exhibition Group's energy transition event of reference in Italy, Africa and the Mediterranean basin, will debut from 22nd to 24th March

Rimini, 17th March 2023 – Everything is ready for the debut of K.EY – The Energy Transition Expo.

The IEG (Italian Exhibition Group) event of reference on energy transition in Italy, Africa and the Mediterranean basin will be back from 22nd to 24th March at Rimini Expo Centre with a totally new look.

The success of the first stand-alone edition of the event, with its new name, new format and unprecedented spring-time slot, has exceeded expectations by attracting numerous adhesions at a national, European and non-European level and confirming the interest that the market has always shown in the event.

More than 500 brands are expected, of which about 30% from abroad, with the attendance of the main market leaders in all sectors and a significant expansion of the supply chains. The exhibition area has doubled compared to previous editions: 12 halls and a completely redesigned layout with six themed exhibition areas for each of the event's six product sectors.

K.EY – The Energy Transition Expo has not forgotten the experience gained from Key Energy during the 15 previous editions and maintains close ties with Ecomondo, setting itself even more ambitious goals: to strengthen its leadership in terms of energy efficiency and transition issues and consolidate its role as a reference network for all the communities involved by fostering constant dialogue with institutions and connecting key players in the sector in order to exchange views and discuss energy transition issues, while keeping informed and updated on legislative aspects and development trends.

The three days of business and networking in Rimini will take on an even greater international air thanks to the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ITA – Italian Trade Agency, and will see over 300 qualified foreign operators from all over the world in attendance at the show, as well as collaboration with over 23 international associations mainly from Western and Eastern Europe, Central and South America, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.

Although the six themed exhibition areas will be well defined, they will also be interconnected in order to explore the topic of energy efficiency from every aspect, optimising the itinerary and allowing visitors and exhibitors to increase contacts and networking opportunities and intercept new business opportunities. Space will be given to products and technologies from the solar, photovoltaic and storage sectors at SEC - Solar Exhibition and Conference, for wind energy at WEM - Wind Expo for Med and for technologies and projects for hydrogen production and storage at HYe. Energy efficiency and storage in the industrial and building sectors, with technologies and services available to companies to optimise their energy consumption and reduce their carbon footprint, will be discussed at EFFI - Energy Efficiency Expo, a cross-sector area covering every sector involved in the energy transition. Lastly, eME - e-Mobility Expo and Sustainable City will deal respectively with electric and sustainable mobility, from recharging infrastructures to interconnected mobility services and the smart city, exploiting all the possible synergies between these sectors. Also confirmed is the Sustainable Building District specifically for sustainable building and organised in collaboration with Green Building Council Italy, the main partner.

The full programme of events and international conferences scheduled, defined by K.EY's Technical Scientific Committee with the collaboration of the most important national and international Associations, will include, for the first time, the K. EY ENERGY SUMMIT - States General of Renewable Energy Sources, a moment for public debate promoted by ANEV, Elettricità Futura, ITALIA SOLARE, Consorzio Italiano Biogas, Federidroelettrica, ANIE Rinnovabili, Assoidroelettrica and Coordinamento FREE. The aim is to submit organic and coordinated proposals to the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, in the presence of the Hon. Vannia Gava, Vice-Minister of said Ministry, for the accelerated development of renewables in order to achieve the 2030 objectives and transfer to the community the advantages of renewable sources in terms of contained and stable energy costs, reduced dependence on foreign countries, increased energy security, and containment of polluting and climate-changing emissions. The event will open with greetings from Corrado Peraboni, CEO of Italian Exhibition Group.

Thursday 23rd will see the presentation of the 1st Report on the production geography of renewables in Italy, promoted and organised by Fondazione Symbola and Italian Exhibition Group in collaboration with the sector's main trade associations. The aim is to reconstruct, together with the market's top Italian players, the characteristics and territorial and sectorial distribution of the companies involved in the renewable energy supply chain.

Staged alongside K.EY will be the third edition of ForumTech, ITALIA SOLARE's training and information event, which will focus on the role of storage systems in the electricity market, the technological challenges for O&M in Italy and the end-of-life management of photovoltaic modules.

K.EY will take place at the same time as DPE The European Exhibition of Electrical power Systems, the European event dedicated to the entire ecosystem of electrical generation, distribution, safety and automation, organised by Italian Exhibition Group in collaboration with the Distributed Generation Association - Engines, Components, Generators, centralised into ANIMA Confindustria. DPE addresses the distributed generation sector by exhibiting solutions and technologies from the systems and components industry for electricity generation and distribution. Moreover, it will bring to the show topics related to the new order that the electricity grid is assuming, through a dedicated conference and training programme.

K.EY is part of Italian Exhibition Group's trade show cluster dedicated to Green & Technology, which groups together the sector's top events. Together with Ecomondo, IBE Intermobility & Bus Expo, Tecna and DPE, it is part of the GreenTech Insights (GTI) digital platform, the network that unites the communities of the cluster's trade shows to support companies, start-ups, organisations and administrations and guide them towards the adoption of increasingly more ethical and responsible working models with the aim of achieving the European climate neutrality targets by 2050.
GTI produces multimedia and informative content available to the community throughout the year and organises digital events linked to in-person trade shows in order to fuel the debate on energy transition, amplify communication on the topic and foster the connection between all the stakeholders involved.
