Provide an overview of the strengths of franchising in Italy and how this format can help the fitness sector in today´s scenario. Gabriele Costa - Co-founder of, the company that, together with RiminiWellness, has organised the Franchising Day being held today at Italian Exhibition Group´s ongoing event at Rimini Expo Centre – began with this premise to explain his point of view on the development of managerial fitness: ´We decided to organise this conference for sector professionals (mainly real estate developers, gym and fitness centre owners, personal trainers). After listening to the needs of the market, we are sure that the franchising model could be a clincher, especially for small personal trainer centres, which, in recent years, have found it difficult to continue their business. With a small initial investment, support can be had every step of the way, from opening to completion and including customer service. All with an excellent quality/price ratio. Looking at the figures, in this moment of evolution, the trend for franchising is extremely positive, with a growth forecast of up to 190%.´
Speakers at the conference included some of the major players on the Italian scene: Roberto Ronchi - COO Anytime Fitness Italia, Marco Campagnano – founder and General Manager of Fit&Go, Ciro Santucci – founder of Audace Palestre, Eduardo Montefusco - CEO of FitActive, Adriano Silvestri – co-founder of Urban Fitness, Davide Diamante – CEO and Founder of FitUp, Vincenzo Nocito – CEO and Founder of FitExpress.

The iconic expression of physical culture, the exaltation of the human body´s muscular potential. The weekend at RiminiWellness 2022, the 16th edition of the Italian Exhibition Group event dedicated to fitness, sport, wellness and healthy eating, is also celebrating physical culture and body building in the RiminiSteel area. Halls A5/C5 at Rimini Expo Centre, which also host martial arts, combat sports and power lifting disciplines as well as an exhibition area for companies operating in the food supplements sector, were bustling with an enthusiastic public for the finals of RiminiSteel Classic, the contest that sees athletes affiliated to national IFBB federations, divided into fifteen categories competing in a contest with a final jackpot of €30,000 at stake. After yesterday´s weighing in and number assignment, the PRO QUALIFIER competition got into full swing on stage today with the qualifying rounds and competitions in the bodybuilding, classic bodybuilding, classic physique, bodyfitness, woman physique and wellness categories, while tomorrow, Sunday 5th June, will be the turn of men physique and bikini. At the same time as RiminiSteel Classic, the stage organised by International Sport Factory will be featuring the MR & MISS AINBB natural bodybuilding competition, and the Absolute Championship set up by the Wabba International Federation, one of the world´s leading organisations in the sector, attended by athletes from every corner of the world. Until tomorrow, RiminiSteel is offering the public of athletes, sportsmen and bodybuilding enthusiasts the chance to meet guest of honour Phil Heath - super champion and seven-time winner of the Mr. Olympia title - in the Meet & Greet space located in Hall A5.

Attending RiminiWellness yesterday and today were Italian sports ´Legends´, Giuseppe Gibilisco and Stefano Maniscalco. ÔLegend´ is a Sport e Salute project that aims to involve sportsmen and women of all ages, levels and social brackets.
Stefano Maniscalco has won everything there is to win in karate: 3 world titles, 5 European titles, 17 Italian titles and numerous Mediterranean Games. He did not win at the Olympics only because, in the years he was competing, karate was not yet an Olympic discipline. ´My greatest satisfaction was winning the World Championship in Japan, in the temple of martial arts. By way of comparison, it was a bit like Italy winning at Wembley.´ Stefano Maniscalco also stars in Claudio Fragasso´s film ´The Karate Man´, currently showing in cinemas, in which he plays himself.
Giuseppe Gibilisco was pole vaulting world champion in 2003 and bronze medallist at the Athens Olympics in 2004. ´For me, being here means spreading the word of sport, and practising sport does not necessarily mean being a champion. It is more about being a better person. I remember when I won the gold medal. Everyone had wanted to win it but once the competition was over, we were all drinking and eating together. Those who practice sport have healthy values, thanks precisely to sporting activity, to knowing one´s limits and to those who make sport possible.´ Throughout his career, Gibilisco was also coached by Vitalij Petrov, who in turn was the athletic trainer of the greatest pole-vaulter of all time, Serhij Bubka, both Ukrainians. ´It gives me the shivers every time my mind goes back to 2004 when I won the indoor competition organised by Sergei Bubka in Donetsk. Today, that hall is no longer there. When there is war, we all lose, nobody wins,´ the Italian champion concludes.
