At Dubai Active Industry, Dubai Active and Dubai Muscle Show, the largest fitness event in the Middle East, 84% more operators

The event, an extraordinary growth driver for the industry, recorded a 35% increase in total size; million-dollar deals signed over the three days of the show

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 4th November 2021 - Dubai Active Industry, Dubai Active and Dubai Muscle Show, the largest fitness event in the Middle East, which ended a few days ago at the Dubai World Trade Center and was organised by HBG Events, an IEG - Italian Exhibition Group´s company, in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council, showed all its international firepower as it accompanied the recovery of the sector´s business in the United Arab Emirates.
The event recorded an 84% increase in operators, 25,000 visitors over the three days and an overall 35% increase in size.

´It is estimated,´ says IEG CEO Corrado Peraboni, ´that the value of the fitness industry in the United Arab Emirates could reach over 600 million dollars by 2025. A figure that motivates our choices of field in the international arena which, in that particular area, see us preside over the sectors´ business through our HBG Events. With its three products, the company has demonstrated its active role in the sector´s rapid growth and development.´
And this year, a hall for b2b companies made its debut at Dubai Active Industry with leading global brands such as Technogym, Life Fitness, Matrix, Panatta and AKI Fitness as well as fitness technology innovator brands such as Lacertosus and Booty Builder.

Francesco Santa, CEO of HBG Events, adds: ´The response to this year´s event has been tremendous. For the sector in question, Dubai Active represented an extraordinary business opportunity, as witnessed by our own clients who reported a doubling of sales compared to the 2019 show. This bodes well for the future of the show for which we are already planning innovative actions.´

´We have received only positive feedback from our operators,´ adds Nick Blair, Wellness Global Exhibition Director Italian Exhibition Group, ´and during the three days, deals of up to $5 million were signed with a focus on large industrial expansion projects. The event was a veritable epicentre for business, networking and innovation, with operators from all over the world and 590 business matchings between companies and buyers.´

This year, Dubai Active Industry, Dubai Muscle Show and Dubai Active, in an exhibition area of 20,000 square metres, hosted 125 speakers from all over the world, 250 operatorsfrom the world´s leading sports nutrition brands, fitness and bodybuilding from 25 countries and welcomed over 600 athletes and influencers from all over the planet. The three days offered a packed programme of events: institutional and business meetings, unmissable business seminars, motivational and educational conferences, world-class competitions and a constant back-to-back of exciting group fitness classes.

Also new for 2021 was the Start-up Zone which provided new businesses with the chance to meet investors and take part in the Draper-Aladdin Start-up Challenge with the chance for fitness, health and wellness start-ups to win up to $500,000 to invest.
Dubai Active was also attended by 200 C-level Summit delegates from gyms, hotels, sports retailers, wellness operators, institutional investors and other fitness and wellness companies.

The Italian Exhibition Group´s Global Fitness Network will now move to Mexico for MACS Mexico Active & Sport from 25th to 27th November (Poliform Leon, Guanajuato https://hfmexico.mx/macs/en/) and then back to Italy in 2022 for RIMINIWELLNESS (Rimini Expo Centre, 2nd-5th June www.riminiwellness.com).
