The ninth edition of this Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) event will occupy 10 halls and 40,000 square metres, featuring more than 140 companies and 250 brands, as well as a programme of 35 events including conferences, master classes and training sessions.
AV CONNECT, THE NEW PROFESSIONAL AV ECOSYSTEM, HAS ARRIVED
New for this edition will be AV Connect, a format developed in collaboration with SIEC – Systems Integration Experience Community, and a key area for the audio-video community, where technologies, expertise and real-life applications will come together. More than just an exhibition area, AV Connect will be a dynamic, operational environment designed to foster direct dialogue between system integrators, designers, installers and decision-makers. Here, solutions will not merely be displayed but also tested and tried out with a particular focus on interoperability and shared standards.
LIVE YOU PLAY, IMMERSIVE ROOMS AND SOUND POWER: LIVE EXPERIENCE IN REAL SETTINGS
Live You Play will be back with four halls dedicated to indoor live performances. Each hall will feature a professional stage with its own distinct identity and technological focus, where audio, video and lighting will operate under real-life conditions so that professionals will be able to test technologies and setups as they would in an actual live environment. MIR 2026 will also host the Immersive Rooms in which to explore the potential of three-dimensional audio, and the outdoor Sound Power area, where high-sound-pressure-level demonstrations for large-scale applications will be carried out.
MIR CLUB, THE HOME OF DJ CULTURE, WILL BE BACK FOR ITS FOURTH EDITION
The fourth edition of MIR Club, a reference hub for electronic culture and music production, in collaboration with DJ Mag Italia, will be back with its core Experience Arena featuring Italy´s largest ever open-access DJ console exhibition. The most eagerly awaited events will include the Demolition Panel, which will offer young producers the chance to play their unreleased tracks to a jury of industry experts; the Vinyl Lounge, an area for analogue listening inspired by Japanese listening bars; and DJ Mag Tech Tools, a place in which to explore the evolution of DJing technologies. Making their debut will be Masterclab, a format specifically for integrating electronic music and live instruments with exceptional tutors, and Cutting Club, a knockout scratch competition for those who see turntablism as both a technique and a performance. Lastly, big names and leading figures from the professional world, including Saturnino, Fresco, Boosta of Subsonica and the hugely popular YouTuber Mark The Hammer, are expected to attend.
CONFERENCES AND TRAINING: CREATIVITY PUT TO THE AI TEST
One of MIR´s key educational highlights will be the conference entitled ´Human After All? How Humans and Machines Define Contemporary Creativity ´, a debate on the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence in contemporary creative processes, focusing on the value of human intervention in the age of generative technologies. In addition to theoretical reflection, MIRIllumino will present a brand-new format for lighting design, organised by renowned lighting designers such as Giovanni Pinna and Marco Zucchinali. An anonymous technical challenge that will put lighting technologies to the test by evaluating performance alone.
THE LIVE INDUSTRY: GROWING NUMBERS FOR NIGHTCLUBS AND CONCERTS
The event will extend its scope by highlighting the contexts in which audiovisual technologies come to life and become experience. Experience is exactly what drives the Italian live entertainment industry, which continues to demonstrate its economic and social centrality. According to data from SIAE – the Confcommercio Business Culture Observatory – SILB 2025, the nightclub sector, with over 34 million patrons per year, generated a turnover of over €2 billion, of which €500 million was direct revenue and €1.5 billion came from allied activities. The summer season played a central role accounting for around 40% of total summer tourism spending and a 3–4% growth rate. Within the broader Italian cultural context, total turnover amounted to around €4 billion with demand increasingly focused on physical experiences: in the first six months of 2025, concerts attracted 7.3 million spectators (+1.6%) and generated €256.5 million in revenue.
