SWTF 2018: ITALIAN EXHIBITION GROUP OPENS THE SHANGHAI WORLD TRAVEL FORUM AND ANTICIPATES GLOBAL TOURISM MARKET TRENDS

www.worldtravelfair.com.cn Rimini, 24th May 2018 - Today, The Latest Consumer Trends, the event held by ITALIAN EXHIBITION GROUP (IEG) dedicated to consumer profiles and emerging trends that will revolutionize the global tourism scenario, inaugurated the program of events at the 2018 Shanghai World Travel Forum in the context of the 15th edition of the Shanghai World Travel Fair (SWTF), the leading expo in China, being held until 27th May at Shanghai Exhibition Center.
Co-organized by Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration and Europe Asia Global Link Exhibitions (EAGLE) - the joint-venture by IEG and VNU Exhibitions Asia - in collaboration with Shanghai International Convention & Exhibition Corp. Ltd, SWTF is a showcase for the sector´s professionals, who make contact with 750 exhibitors from 53 countries and regions, as well as 15,000 trade members and 50,000 visitors.
At the inauguration of SWTF, the opening speech was by Emanuele Guido, responsible for international and national business development with IEG, and Chairman of EAGLE, followed by greetings from Mr. Özgür AYTüRK, tourism counsellor of the Turkish embassy in Shanghai. Guido described the new features and content of an event that through the years has set the benchmark for excellence on China´s tourism scenario. Participants included Ms. Weiwan Xu, chairperson of Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration, Mr. Greg Li, vice president of VNU Exhibitions Asia, Mr. Stefano Beltrame, Italian Consul General in Shanghai, and Maria Ludovica Murazzani, Italian consul in Shanghai.
Travel&Hospitality Industry Vision - the study carried out by IEG - highlighted a growing demand for tailor-made journeys, as well as a search for authenticity in real relations, not virtual ones, with the sector´s experts, who support clients in the choice and preparation of tailor-made journeys. A tool and guide for the trade members, the study emphasizes IEG´s role in the tourist industry as a provider of unique quality contents and strategic information for companies that want to be competitive in the global tourism universe.
IEG´s next appointment in China with the EAGLE joint-venture is at the Travel Trade Market (TTM), from 5th to 7th September 2018 in Chengdu, Sichuan, a purely B2B event dedicated to Chinese inbound and outbound tourism, with buyers from all over the world. For IEG, EAGLE represents a hub for the Far East markets, particularly in the tourism sector, which the Group covers with the leading tourism business expo TTG Travel Experience (Rimini Expo Centre, 10-12 October 2018).
