China is well established as the world´s largest tourism source market. According to the statistics released by China Outbound Tourism Research Institute (COTRI), in 2017 Chinese tourists made 145 million overseas trips, a 6.2% year-on-year growth rate. Second-tier cities had particularly great outbound traveller figures in 2017, with Chengdu overtaking Shenzhen and ranking third in the number of outbound tourists. Encouraged by this growth, Travel Trade Market (TTM) will open its doors for the first time in Chengdu from 5th to 7th September 2018 as a B2B platform to give local and international tourism operators a gateway to these markets with enormous potential and yet not crowded by the competition.
Italy will be the Country Partner at TTM, organized by Europe Asia Global Link Exhibitions (EAGLE) - a company formed by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) and VNU Exhibitions Asia - and Vision Fairs China.
The Country Partner will be represented with a pavilion organized by the Italian National Tourist Board (ENIT) which will host tourism operators of 2 important Italian tourism destinations - Emilia Romagna and Sicily. Adjacent to the pavilion, ´Meet the Italian Destination´ will be the area dedicated to company presentations, where visitors can learn the latest news on incoming tourism in Italy. Other destinations such as Australia, Belgium, Egypt, Finland, Hawaii, Kenya, New Zealand, Russia, will also be at the show. In addition the inbound section will host pavilions organized by Chengdu Tourism Board, Fujian Tourism Board, Leshan Tourism board and more.
